Cozy atmosphere. The retail space features all the essentials of Spanish cuisine. The restaurant offers Spanish dishes with hints of a wider Mediterranean influence. For example, I ordered tapas: a classic bocadillo de jamòn y manchego, and 2 skewers of moorish kebabs.
Excellent.

I've been eating here for years and I've yet to be disappointed. One of their seasonal offerings, green gazpacho, is incredibly unctuous and dreamy - flavorful and light. The fried eggplant with honey and thyme is my favorite regular dish, but really, everything on the menu is amazing. Service is always friendly and attentive, and each of the dining rooms is quaint and relaxing. For dessert you can't go wrong with the almond cake - not too heavy or sweet. Definitely put it on your roster!

So I won’t lie. I was disappointed. This is my favorite restaurant in the whole world. They have a very established reputation for traditional Spanish dishes.
They changed the menu. They used to offer 3 different paellas in 2019 but now they only have one paella and they determine which paella they will do that day. So today I got the shrimp paella. Not great. See photo. There were only 4 shrimps, the rice was overcooked seasoned with a tomato paste and there was no evidence of saffron inside the dish. It just wasn’t as good as their seafood paella and when people think paella they think seafood paella.
The Albóndigas was good. Very traditional.
I had sangria and it was fantastic.
Towards the end of the meal I complained to the waitress that I was being attacked by 🐜 biting ants. She ignored me completely. I didn’t stay for dessert because I was being eaten alive. They have to spray their outside area for ants. Not fun. I would have loved to try the flan.
La tienda, please stop making all the other paellas and just make the seafood paella. This is what people are expecting. See attached photo. This was the last paella I had at your restaurant and it was outstanding. Your shrimp paella pales in comparison.

Great little find during our visit to VA. Being of Spanish heritage I appreciate this place even more. When you walk in, there's a storefront that sells Spanish groceries. There was also wine tasting happening as well. There was plenty of seating with dining rooms further back. The tapas were incredible and so was the coffee. I highly recommend!
