We had a flood in our downstairs after the drain hose from the washing machine came out of the wall and drained onto our downstairs floor. After mitigation we contracted with 2nd street to not only replace the downstairs but the upstairs at the same time in our townhouse style home.
The young lady in the showroom was nice enough but most of the time we were in there on several occasions she was more interested in updating her online register for the new baby and investigating rental properties. Congratulations to her by the way!
Insurance paid for our downstairs and we decided to pay for our upstairs at the same time.
We chose an LVP and installation took place. The first day they arrived, the crew told us they had to leave early to go to OBX to do something at the owners daughters house. After several more days the sub contracted installer was nailing the new baseboard down and his 3” finish nail went into a copper pipe inside the wall in the utility room. A day or so later I noticed a hissing sound in the wall and checked the Crawlspace to fine flood #2 was happening. (I still have a video of the sub driving the nails, and the plumber who later cut the wall open to find his nail that didn’t find a stud)
We let the owner know and they sent someone out who wasn’t the owner who didn’t offer anything helpful except “looks like there was no plate in the wall to protect the pipe”. This is a practice that was not in use when our house was built so no, there would be no plate and a plate was not needed if he had found a stud in the first place.
So after spending around $12k in new flooring, we spent another $4k to get their mistake fixed. Thanks!
Their painter tried cutting and putting down some quarter round because the lead man had to leave to go somewhere else. It was bad. We did get them to replace some of them that were obvious. The pictures attached are examples that were left of acceptable work according to the representative that came out to “QC”. (Never heard from the owner again…)
Same person that blamed the subs extra long nail in the pipe on us.
Upstairs they removed some old tile in the bathroom and the new LVP went down everywhere. Pictures also included of the door jambs that were acceptable to them.
If you see a huge gap at the bottom of the door trim after your work is complete, maybe you should suggest correcting it.
I would have paid to have the trim removed and replaced with new but, this is acceptable to them I guess.
I have worked in the construction field for over 45 years.
I would be happy to show the owner the bad trim, the door jambs, and the hump that was left in the kitchen floor to name a few things.
After all this, we are ready to put down hardwood floors, with anyone but 2nd Street unless I hear from the owner.

From the showroom floor to completion of my selection of floor my experience with Second Street Floors was nothing less than exceptional! Diane Ronneberg was very helpful in explaining the brands, product levels of durability and insulation etc. Final selection was only difficult because all the products they offer are of finest quality! Diane made the scheduling of measurements, ordering and then installation easy and carefree. She provided me with all the information I needed to prepare for the installation and in discussing financial arrangements.
Jason Edingtons team was assigned to my project and I can’t stress enough the level of professionalism, excellence in craftsmanship they have. Thank you Jason, Edwin, Jamere and Jason! Yes 2 Jasons !

Second Street Floors did an amazing job on my floors! I chose a luxury vinyl plank for my small home business because Of the durability & the flooring is waterproof. The Pergo Extreme has gotten a lot of compliments so far! They gave me a realistic price for the product & install! I had several estimates from local flooring companies but went with Second Street & couldn’t be happier with the cost & quality of the install.
Update: 3 years later & floor still looks amazing, easy to clean, sound proofing as well.

Flooring crew did a wonderful job 👏!
They found an issue with my floor flatness and although it took an extra day, the fix made everything look 👀 fantastic!
Did have an issue with shoe molding, but it was taken care of promptly and professionally!
