Highly recommend AMA Pro Sports. Chris is customer service oriented and patient. He explained in detail everything that had to done to my nephew’s bike to make it roadworthy. His prices are fair and he kept me updated with the bike’s repair status.

Let me start by saying I drove past 3 shops and over 1.5 hrs to come to ama. I have used all 3 of those same shops before and will never go back! Ama is not only extremely knowledgeable, but they don't age discriminate on bikes.. my 1992 looks better than ever ! Other shops just laughed and said good luck.. not Ama. I got my rear drum break replaced, and my wheels powder coated/polished.(I wasn't even looking to). They were always in contact with the time frame, questions to clarify my wants, and priced fairly. They got a forever customer out of me. I appreciate it alot guys, this summers been fun on my bike!

I've taken various vehicles here over the years for basic repairs (tires, chain adjustments, and a couple belts for a centrifugal clutch on a moped). They've worked me into there schedules as best as possible and seem to have problems keeping mechanics there. I understand deadlines aren't always met but I shouldn't have to call to see if a part I've ordered has arrived, if a quote has been made, or if the bike has been fixed by a previously agreed date...almost everytime, it seems like the only time they call is when they want a payment. But like previously mentioned I understand they're short staffed and the only motorcycle shop in james city/williamsburg that works on street bikes. My last few visits have gotten worse and worse each time. From waiting a week, (after an agreed 3 day turnaround time) to having to replace broken turn signals, (not broken when dropped off) and to lastly paying money for a service that was never fixed and I was immediately blamed for when I called them 5 miles down the road after experiencing the same problem I was told was fixed. A few shims in a radiator fan, a wiring harness re wired, and a slight oil leak fixed and I was told I was good to go but may have problems down the road from radiator fan scrapping radiator and not knowing cause of harness frying. After ensuring the owner that yama lube yama cool does come pre diluted and im not rough on the only mode of transportation that gets me to and from work 80 miles a day. I was quickly told that the only thing under warranty was the work they completed and if the work they completed was fine they would charge me even more to "fix" my bike again.... Most mechanic shops or dealerships will take the previous money paid and put it twords the new bill, this isnt the case here. After being told the shop had no truck to pick me or the bike up I let them know I would be dropping the bike back off the following day. When I dropped the bike back off I let the owner know once again the work I completed (radiator, radiator fan, radiator hoses, thermostat, thermostat housing, and a coolant system flush) and the work he completed (ensuring proper air flow to radiator, ensuring the fan cut on at proper time, and the oil leak fixed) made it safe to say the water pump wasn't the issue and the coolant i was smelling from the exhaust but seeing no obvious leaks made it safe to say it needed a new head gasket like I previously insinuated. No pressure test was ever conducted and the shop essentially did the same thing I had been doing, throwing money at it in hopes of fixing it. When told what the problem was a few days later I was told a new muffler would fix all my problems. I installed a new muffler today and it still overheats. When called initially about the latest problem the shop told me they dont do diagnostics for legal reasons and to take it elsewhere. I would recommend following their directions.
