Interesting little spot, with old school and new school feel. Service was great. Their menu had a lot of different items, a lot of unique burgers. I had the Olive Burger featuring Olive Mayonnaise. It was very tasty, and their burgers were the perfect size. I could actually eat them. They weren't stacked 3 feet high. The cheese fries were also delicious. Only flaw, they didn't have a soda fountain, so no free refills on sodas.
The 3 members of my party each got the build-your-own burger. My son loved being able to add an egg and bacon to his. I loved the olive mayo. We were given a choice of "with pink or without," which seems a sensible way to order for thin 1/4 lb burger patties. We loved the burgers but the highlight was the fries we ordered from the appetizer menu. Since fries can be ordered as a side we decided to skip the regular type and get the jazzed-up appetizer version, which our server assured us was enough to share. She was right; we had leftovers. The farmer fries had pecorino cheese and garlic, as well as garlic aioli on the side. There was also a wide selection of beers, and they serve Dr Brown's root beer. The server was friendly, answered questions, and checked in a couple of times without hovering. Prices were reasonable. Great experience!
So this is the guy that made our drinks cool vibe, incredible mustache, awesome bartender. We loved our drinks. Food was good atmosphere was great. But our server, her name was Drea. I think that's how you spell. It had no personality, very dry humor I think she said 4 words, I had to go inside to get my bill paid for because she never returned. She had a cool tattoo. That's the only thing, cool. Poor thing. I wonder if she had something going on in her personal life if so, she needs to decipher home from work...... Because her service made us feel very sour. We would return in a heartbeat for the food and atmosphere. But would definitely request not to have the same server. She was not worth one star on this review. Hate to badmouth anybody but I shoot straight. Thanks again Cook's burger bar for the good food and the great drinks talk to your server. She needs a lesson in hospitality.
This place was amazing! Cooks Burger Bar features a fun selection of crafted burgers, and inspired treats to choose from. If you are looking for a fun, Gluten Friendly night out, Cook’s is your place. Most of their menu can be prepared GF, and the knowledgeable staff made sure all our selections were safe. We enjoyed a lot of really great food—two amazing burgers, Cheerwine glazed wings, tallow fries, and SPAM fries, and decadent guilty pleasure. No complaints! This farm to table kitchen delivers on flavor, service, and a really cool retro vibe. Well worth a visit!
Cook’s is hands down one of the coolest spots I have been to in Williamsburg. If you are craving a legit burger and a cold beer, this place hits the mark perfectly. The vibe is something special kind of 90s maybe even late 80s inspired and it totally works. The owner has created a place that feels laid back and welcoming, almost like you are hanging out at a friend’s house who just happens to make killer food. Their whole motto “Chill Vibes Served Cold” really sums it up. From the atmosphere to the food to the way you are treated when you walk in, it is all about relaxing and enjoying yourself. The burgers are juicy, the beer list is on point, and the overall experience is just plain fun. Definitely a spot you will want to come back to again and again.
